It is hard to get a job at Lionbridge but not something that would cost you blood, sweat, and tears. The process to get hired begins with your application. This will include your basic information, language and residency requirements, an ID proof, and an eye-catching CV. Once they review everything, you’ll get an email from the company. They will provide you with study material and rater guidelines and you have to appear for their qualification exam. This is the toughest part. You will have to pull up your socks to clear this exam. It comprises three parts. The first part comprises theoretical questions that will judge your understanding of the guidelines and is usually the easiest section. The second part assesses your practical knowledge and gives you live tasks to rate webpages on quality. The next part is where most people fail. The real test is in performing the live tasks of the third section of the exam. They test your practical knowledge and analytical skills. It comprises tasks where you need to rate search engine result pages (SERPs) based on relevancy. If you make headway with this one, you are definitely in!
If you fail your exam in the first attempt, you may be lucky enough to get a second attempt. That is an onetime opportunity.
You should look at the publicly available Google guidelines. It will give you an idea of what you’re in for and will also help in preparing beforehand for your exam.
Interacting with other raters on help centers and forums can help you clear your concepts before attending the paper. Another way to relieve stress is by clicking on the “Submit and Stop” button during the exam and take a break to help you think clearly. Later, you can restart from where you left.
As a piece of advice, if you get a good hold of the guidelines and study material, you have a fair chance of getting hired.
