While working with Appen, you are required to possess a computer or laptop with a sound card and speakers as well as a Smartphone which is not more than three years old.

Each project specifies what kind of equipments you need to work on it. Sometimes you may specifically be asked to work with only your android mobile phone, For example, they may ask you to click certain pictures with your phone, even selfies. At other times they may wish you to use only your laptop, especially in a task which requires you to work with images or use your speakers. However most times it is best to use a combination of both.

Some projects also require you to have an Iphone or I Pad before you can apply to them. Also note that Appen does not provide any reimbursement for any equipment if you wish to buy them before applying to Appen.

However you don’t need a microphone as the work at Appen is not a call center job.

The safest bet this is that you should always have your laptop and mobile phone ready when you are working with Appen.
